Kimberley Dolan - Founder and President of Love and Purrs Sanctuary Since I was a little girl I have always loved animals.  I volunteered in veterinary offices growing up, and later worked in them.  I eventually started my own pet care company where I care for pets while the owners are away.   Cats are defiantly my favorite pet and I have always had them in my life. I often think cats are misunderstood and stereotyped.  The stereotypes often have very little to do with a cat and everything to do with human perception.  For me, cats offer a sense of peace and comfort that I don't often see in the world.  Loving and caring for cats has become my greatest joy and passion in life. Since cats are so often misunderstood and unappreciated, they are often pushed to the side, thrown away like garbage and abandoned.  Cats, unfortunately, are the most euthanized pet in shelters.  I have created a place that cats from all walks of life: feral, abandoned, special needs, elder and forgotten, will have a second chance to live in a fully free roaming environment.  The sanctuary is set up for cats to live, be loved and thrive, while waiting to be adopted.  Cats are social by nature and live in colonies (called a clowder), not alone, so this type of environment fosters contentment in cats. I am excited to see what the future holds for Love and Purrs Sanctuary and all the cats we will be able to help.  Increasing donations is always a huge goal for the sanctuary so that it can continue to grow.
