Petra Hawk - VP of Love and Purrs Sanctuary Petra Hawk is a European trained Chef who spent over a decade at The Inn at Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach Company, and a West Coast Commercial Fisherman. She is passionate about animal welfare since childhood. Her weekends during formative years and until junior year in high school were spent volunteering at the SPCA of Monterey County, California. Although she spent her senior year abroad, she remembers the challenges of her service at the SPCA very well, for those years illustrated to her the considerable urgency for ongoing comprehensive solutions and community education regarding animal welfare. At the Love and Purrs Sanctuary solutions for both cats and humans is the central focal point, and individual contact is highly sought after. The creation of this Sanctuary for the abundant cats and kittens in need purposefully fulfills the acute issues of abandonment, homelessness, and inadequate health care while engaging in community education and access to resources. The community as a whole benefits from the action of Love and Purrs Sanctuary, as strays, feral cats, and abandoned cats find loving care until a forever home may be found. Emphasis upon the need to spay/ neuter as well as health issues found exclusively among the domestic cat population are addressed with knowledge and concern. When not engaged in Culinary Arts, fabulous clients, and superstar staff at Evergreen Court, Petra can be found fishing for Wild King Salmon and Albacore Tuna with her two pooches Hawkeye and Ladyhawk off the Coast of Oregon.
